12 Songs: First October
I feel like I’m becoming apologetic about all my playlists. Jackson has set the bar pretty high over here. In another guest installment, I try to set the tone for the week: by starting two days late. We been busy…France, Spain, etc.
But we fire it up with the upbeat Elvis Costello and “Welcome to the Working Week” before a little emo hip hop from Earl Sweatshirt and Vince Staples. Then we delve into some outsider rock and roll from The Cars, Oingo Boingo and The Circles before falling off our horse on hump day with Dwight Yokum, Del Shannon and George Jones before riding off into a rather ominous sunset with Though, King Dude and Cold Cave.
No algorithms were injured in the making of this week’s playlist.—Travis
