12 Songs: Space is Deep

12 Songs: Space is Deep

This just in from our contact over at Space Force:

Groundbreaking new data extracted from the cosmos confirms the widely held suspicion that Space is, in fact, deep. He also told us that the Spacemen 3 reunion is real and happening somewhere out there in the great black as we speak. And apparently extraterrestrials are real too, but they’re a stubborn bunch who refuse to listen to anything other than Hawkwind and Scott Walker. Maybe they’ll get a kick out of this week’s playlist then.

Featuring:

Chillera. A neat discovery as of late, who bill themselves as a surf-dub band from Odessa, Ukraine.

Wand. “Send/Receive (Mind)” should provide the proper amount of propulsion needed to break through the Kármán line and into the cosmos.

Hooveriii. Among the finest contemporary practitioners of “space rock”. See them live if you get the chance, they’re regulars at Zebulon in LA.

Scott Walker. Akin to: Randy Newman, but on the dark side of the moon. —Jackson Todd
