Best Sections of All-Time: Mason, Mike and Coco Ho in "V Town"

It wouldn’t be hyperbole to say that Mason Ho is the greatest surfing show on earth.

His surfing and the video packages he puts them in are easily the best thing going. He’s an entertainer without a single blip of self centered shamelessness.

The only thing you can really expect from a Mason video is being mesmerized by how unexpected it all is. In the water his is a flamboyant ocean ballerina — seemingly dancing his way across the water, putting his board and body everywhere you wish you could.

On land it’s the same. Every sentence is an unfiltered poem straight from his soul. He’s earnest and sincere and altogether original.

Mason and Riordan Pringle started creating videos on YouTube back in 2011, so their library is pretty extensive (you’ve seen them all, right?). Easily the best YouTube follow in surfing. High-performance shredding and all the rock dancing, backwash slab navigating you can handle. A rare edit your non-surfer significant other will love too.

In fact, they are so good, they were awarded best series in the Surfer Poll Awards in 2016 for “License to Chill” —and that year they were up against “Twelve”, the John John series that followed him around the WSL Championship Tour and won almost every award at the Surfer Poll. Back in December 2019 - exactly three years to the day - the North Shore was firing and it was only few days later that an instant classic was born: The whole Ho family getting in on a session in the V-Town backyard.
