Best Sections of All-Time: Taylor Knox in Arc
Taylor Knox was never any of my peers' favorite surfers. He was, however, very much part of a well-balanced style diet. Sort of like eating your greens. You didn’t love doing it, but you ate ‘em because you knew they would make you stronger.
Taylor wasn’t flashy. He didn’t do airs. He was never gonna get the end section of a movie — until he had his own profile film, of course — but his parts were never fast forwarded or skipped either. You needed to watch Taylor surf. Everything he did was textbook. Crisp. Powerful. And strong. It did a style good.
In honor of his goofy nickname “Captain America” — which I guess is better than his other nickname of “Bonehead” — we wanted to feature a section from his 2002 profile film Arc, you know, for the fourth of July.
Conveniently there is an all-action edit from Arc and it gets straight to the point. It’s hot dogs and hamburgers; I don't know if one is better than the other, but here’s a big heaping pile to celebrate power surfing and fireworks.
