Friday Night Flicks: Days of Heaven

Iconic and mysterious director Terrence Malick’s second film (after Badlands) is Days of Heaven. It stars Richard Gere, Sam Shepard, Brooke Adams and Linda Manz. It is a master class in almost every element of filmmaking.

The cinemotography is absurdly good. The acting, the music, the casting, the costumes, the story and the themes. The dialogue. All top notch. The plot is simple enough: a poor couple travel to Texas to work for a wealthy farmer before hatching an idea to have the wife marry the rich farmer in order to inherit the fortune.
