Friday Night Flicks: The Refused are Fucking Dead

Friday Night Flicks: The Refused are Fucking Dead

I think we all have a handful of experiences we remember in graphic detail. We know exactly where we were and what was happening in our lives when we experience them. Those powerful, amazing, odd or terrifying moments in life that scratch the lens you see the world through. I had three with the band Refused. Discovering them in Momentum: Under the Influence for Andy Irons ender part. We all know the one. One of the best parts of all time (watch below). I remember receiving the records and all the ephemera that came inside The Shape of Punk to Come and reading it cover to cover.

Then there was when I discovered this film: Refused are Fucking Dead, which chronicles the final year of the band’s (pre-reunion) shows in gripping (Swedish) detail. A well done film that highlights some amazing live shows, including the final one in a basement that was broken up by the cops and would cause them to go dormant for decades.

The third: The Reunion. They played Coachella and have since done several tours and made a few albums. But seeing them live is a life highlight and a box I can officially check. Twice.

If you don’t know what I’m talking about, check the film, it’s a special band in a variety of ways. This might show you why.—Travis

Follow the link below to watch the film on YouTube. They won’t let us play it here because it says “Fucking” in the title. We approve of you leaving our site to watch this :)
