Interview with Jesse Guglielmana

Jesse G week continues!

Now I often talk about those guys and girls who can do it all. An how whatever they pick up — surfboard, skateboard, paintbrush, pen, scanner, sewing kit, spatula, etc — they instinctively know how to use it and use it well. Jesse is the ultimate example of that. On any given day and amongst the wonderful aroma of resin and paint, his Chamber studio space in Costa Mesa will have screen printers firing, sewing machines humming, planers mowing foam in his custom built shaping bay, a cute dog barking, a skateboard flipping, wax melting in his truck and a paintbrush moving over canvas. It really is something to behold.

His talent runs deep. For instance, when we asked if we could interview him, he asked if we could just send him the questions. We obliged of course — expecting an email of answers. He turned those questions into a hand-stitched and stapled zine (which was physically mailed to my house) and has now been scanned for your viewing pleasure. It smells of resin and paint too.

Be sure to read below, check Jesse’s 12 Songs playlist here (it’s one of the finest of the year) and his Best Sections of All-Time picks here. And then go shop our collaboration with him here. It’s all happening.—Travis
