Reel Talk: Eli Hanneman and Jett Schilling

Hawaiians and Californians have always shared a mutually beneficial connection. One gets access to big waves in the islands in exchange for access to “the surf industry” and economic machines of California that help elevate the hard-charging Hawaiians. Plus, they both need places to stay when they visit.

There are other perks. They also seem to travel well together. And get along.

California’s Jett Schilling and Hawaii’s Eli Hanneman are the latest duo of Challenger Series travel buds who are making their push for the Championship Tour. They find themselves traveling the world together, often in close quarters in a variety of life situations — like getting sick in remote destinations or renting cars when you’re too young to rent cars. They’re tales as old as time, but it’s all part of the fun when traveling the world young with surfboards.

These two have developed a pretty funny rapport as you’ll see in this new episode of Reel Talk. We sat them down on the couch and got a look at what it might be like on the road.
