Tim Curran was American surfing’s sweetheart in the late 90s and early aughts. His aerials, humble demeanor and self deprecating humor made him a crowd favorite and one who perfectly balanced surf video parts and competitive success. And of course he rode for Reef. Featuring prominently next to Miss Reef in many ads, Tim is the first to admit: There is nothing cooler than that. We caught up with Tim and got the warm and fuzzies for his times with Reef. Including memories of that one wave from Cloudbreak that’s etched in our mind forever: a grom on a big sponsor trip getting the wave of the day on Tavarua, arms open in a gaping pit immortalized in print.
