If style is subjective, why do the same names keep coming up?

We sat down a few masters and connoisseurs of good style to discuss that thing that we can’t define but we all “know it when we see it” and realized the list of surfers we keep referencing are all the same.

So what do they have that we all want? Well it turns out having good style rarely stops at the shoreline. You gotta bring it to everything you do.

Style Matters is a series presented by Vissla hoping to bring style to the forefront of the conversation with regards to progressive surfing.

We hope to see legends, modern icons, up and coming surfers and unknowns alike rise to the surface for a chance to win $10,000 and a Gerry Lopez “Pipeliner” Surfboard.

Judging Criteria:

One wave ridden start to finish.

Entrants may submit up to six waves.

Must be filmed between September 1st, 2022 and September 1st, 2023.

All ages, all surfboard types welcome.
