Best Sections of All-Time: Cory Lopez in 5’5’’ x 19 1/4”

A few things happened in the last few weeks that had my mind drifting off and thinking about this video of Cory Lopez ripping the bag out of Raglan.

1. Matt Biolos and the Lost crew are creating a new fish film: 5’5” x 19 1/4…Century

2. NoFX made an announcement to hang it up at the end of the year. (Probably time if we’re being honest)

3. I finally ordered myself my first RNF. A board and film that shaped much of my upbringing and I’d never had one. So you know I went back and watched and this section stood out. Cory had a way of attacking on these boards that was definitely all his own.

So here it is, the Raglan section from the OG 5’5” video and featuring a NOFX song that had to be muted when parents came around. A signature …Lost movie characteristic.—Brandon Guilmette

Side Note: While I was in the airport in Brazil recently I got to tune in and watch a little bit of the USA Championships at Lowers this year. Nothing better than seeing Cory Lopez on the beach helping his son Luke. Luke Lopez took off on a right hander and did one huge backside Lopey blast and it made me so happy to see his son taking all the right cues from papa Lopez and making them his own.
