Kolohe Andino waved goodbye to his beloved (and short lived) surf media station Stagnant Ambition recently and has pivoted and rebranded as 2 Percent. Since its inception around Reckless Isolation time, Stagnant Ambition gave us a bunch of rad edits and the mid-length film “Allen Hazardous Waste Collection Center” — a quick strike film with Kolohe and Griffin who brought along San Clemente groms Taj Lindblad and Brodie Sale along on a trip to El Salvador and the boys scored. Brother has rebranded Stagnant Ambition into what he’s now calling, 2% Surf. Go check out their IG: @2percent_surf. He rallied the whole San Clemente surf scene together to show people what the surf scene is like in San Clemente. It’s already bringing together generations of surfers (tour guys like Griff and Kolohe and the next generation beneath them), creating a hub around their subculture.

2% features all of the names you have heard of for years, plus the next generation of rising stars and plenty of underground core lords that are knocking at the door. Kids like Hayden Rodgers, Dane Matson, Rex Hennings, Tyrone Fomenko and others. All in all, it’s pure surf entertainment filled with all of the BTS of the 2% crew travels and shenanigans.

As Travis penned “HOW ARE THINGS ON THE WEST COAST?”, Griffin and Kolohe were dancing in the rain as they did a billion times before throughout their childhood at the San Clemente pier. Watch that one below, but good luck ever making excuses about the flags blowin’ in the wrong direction again.

SC has always had a pool of talent that’s deeper than most surf towns. That’s what gets us most excited about this new channel is that we get to see some of the names that we’ve maybe only heard rumors about. They even got a new crop of filmmakers trying their hand at editing. It’s stirring up something in the surf community that we’re 100 percent in. We already can’t wait for the next video.
