Best Sections of All-Time: Stephanie Gilmore in Surfing
If we’re talking about style, how could we not mention Steph: surfing’s most stylish woman of all time. Both in and out of the water, Steph has it. Throughout all of endeavors, she’s always carried herself in and out of the water with such grace and has an aura you wanna sit back and appreciate.
We been on the hunt for a film and section that showcased Steph’s style effectively and we landed on Dan Scott’s film Surfing.
Steph and a group of her BFF’s (Nikki Van Dijk, Tyler Wright, Macy Callaghan and Dimity Stoyle) released Surfing in 2021.
“A fun feel good, all-girls surf film, not serious just for fun” according to the girls.
Steph’s part in Surfing has her surfing in her backyard around Snapper and D Bah. Bobbing and weaving through the chaotic lineups can be stressful, but she makes it look like a poetry in motion. A perfect blend of casual and urgency and just the right amount of bend in the knees. It almost makes the crowd look enjoyable the way she glides right through and around them while dazzling us with her rail work.
We recommend that you flick this one on, and honestly just watch the whole thing. These ladies don’t disappoint, and anything Dan Scott puts his name to is worthwhile viewing.
