Reel Talk: Kade Matson and Taj Lindblad
Say what you will about the 2 Percent crew formed by Kolohe Andino and made up of the deep talent pool in San Clemente, the fact of the matter is they’re getting results. Like qualifying results, sending dudes to the CT and taking events on the CS and QS. This year they graduated Cole Houshmand and Kade Matson to the CT, Jett Schilling won the World Junior Title and Taj Lindbland has been getting results both on the QS and the Challenger Series —winning the SLO Cal Open at Morro Bay. Whatever they’re doing or whatever it is: it’s working. Their YouTube channel is a must subscribe and the edits are getting better and better and the scene in San Clemente is going from jock to serious vibe rather quickly.
We sat down with Kade Matson and Taj Lindblad — two of the 2 percent standouts — during the Factory by the Sea and got a bit of context on what they’re up to and where these results are coming from. And we asked point blank: what exactly is 2 Percent? Apparently it’s milk, but so much more. —Travis
