Remember Reef Heazlewood

I recently asked my friend and well-connected ripper Brandon Guilmette what happened to Reef Heazlewood. That Aussie kid who burst on the scene doing the short-lived WSL air shows and putting out parts with ender after ender. Was he locked in lock down? Did he quit? Well none of those were true, turns out he was in my own backyard getting better waves than I was — and looking pretty primed to go on a tear both competitively and freesurfing. Here’s a quick update from his stint in HB/Newport zone during the US Open. September is a little better than August, eh? Local summer delivering.—Travis
