Snacking Away In Indonesia with Shane Borland

Not long ago, a video like this would have been delivered to me by a marketing director and it would include asset packages, social cuts, branding, logos, deployment instructions and full-court pressure on posting it simultaneously with “all the other surf sites.” In today’s landscape though, you get a personal note from the star of the film, like this one I received from one of my favorite people on a board right now, Shane Borland.

Hey Travis, how you living? I Wanted to reach out and see if you have any room on the site to share this new surf/skate clip I just put out with Metal Neck. It has 2 surf parts and a full skate part all filmed during a month in Bali. It also has a little friends section featuring Balaram Stack, Kai Hing, Wil Reid, Mauro Diaz, Lee Wilson, and Colin Moran. And we did a tribute for Ken Suzuki at the end cause it was the last trip we got to do with him [the boys best friend Ken Suzuki passed away recently RIP Ken]. Tromberg filmed/edited the surf part and Kale Neville filmed/edited the skate part.

Another thing I’d like to highlight is what a national treasure Matt Tromberg and the Metal Neck films are. He’s one of the most prolific surf filmers out there and he’s one of the only ones left, doing it for the love. And he’s so talented and his soundtracks are always hammers.
