Watch Sara Taylor in refreshingly raw surf vid "Gum Crush"

Perhaps the greatest perk of annihilating the video algorithm that would have us watch Vlogs with misleading and hyperbolic headlines and depressingly sterile WSL activism vids, is that now we stumble into things like this new Stussy part from Huntington Beach’s Sara Taylor. The vid is rarity in the women’s surfing space: it’s real, raw, full of fuck it energy. The opposite of influencer energy and we love it.

After seeing the “casting” for the WSL’s new show on ABC called Ultimate Surfer, I find Sara’s anti-hero vid especially sick. Not only is she not selling you a bikini top from her longboard in Waikiki, but she’s punching boards, doing airs, getting pitted and shit is being lit of fire. And the vid has a nice creative approach applied by Charlie McHarg.

Check it out, this still exists in women’s surfing and it makes me really happy. Nice work Sara, this is sick.—Travis
