Meet Jackson Todd of Repeater, Memo PST and Fortunate Stooge
I met Jackson Todd 8 years ago when his band After School Special (A.S.S.) played a BBQ. He was like 13 years old and his band — made up of a motley little crew of grommets in middle school — absolutely ripped.
A few years later, I saw him in his band Repeater and we begged him to play basically any event we did. Then I came to find out Jackson could write. Like really well.
To begin, he started making us 12 Songs Playlists every Monday and now he’s essentially brought a tsunami of indie Wikipedia reading and subculture knowledge and offers it up to us all weekly with his brilliant music, art, books and film columns. We are all better after reading them.
On top of all that, his DNA includes Lost Films (hid dad Drew Todd edits the films and curates the music for Matt Biolos and his team and has since 5 x 5 x 19 1/14 days) so you can see where all that incredible punk rock knowledge comes from.
We commissioned our super talented friend Jamie Heinrich to shoot a little profile on Jackson to introduce him to you all. Turns out Jackson is even more influential than we thought. But dont’ take it from us, listen to the musicians below.—Travis Ferré.
